Subject: Today

First of all I’m normally a big believer in performances being a combination of both teams contributing (good or bad), but I admit today I thought Leicester were really really poor, a championship quality team low on confidence. The first goal was always going to determine who won, if they’d scored first, got the crowd onside and defended deep it would have been a nightmare. I talked about the disappointment of West Ham due them also being dire (as shown v CPFC today) and offering barely a threat, but we showed a lack of patience and maturity, however today we did the opposite. Clinical and then managed the game well after we went ahead, but not sure Leicester would score if we played for a week.

Individuals, thought Robbo looked more dangerous again with us going back to what works, a back 4 with Iwobi going inside. Berge probably my man of the match, really good reader of danger and playing him with lukic allows ESR to be more free and get in the box more. Lukic also got forward well at times, hope that can continue, him and Berge should be getting 5/6 goals between them a season. Actually thought Traore was poor apart from his quality finish, but that’s always been his strength, moments which don’t take much thinking. Thought Raul was class again, i like it when Anderson fires low balls in to his feet when he drops into midfield, reminiscent of mitro at his best. That West Ham now seems even more frustrating, ifs, buts and maybes, but what a game to produce some of the worst individual moments all season. Onwards and upwards, same as we’ve been for a while, strong second half and we can get 7th/8th and Europe, poor second half and our floor is 12th, there’s no pressure on us at all.
