• This is what's eating at me. Today I learnt that Euro places could go down to 8th. While I'm not 100% excited about the prospect of Europe & a more difficult league season, I think it is essential to keep Robinson and attract better players (also might be necessary to retain Marco for another year, but not sure).   • Palace Fan in Fulhamish preview reckons they’ve not been beaten away since Forest last Oct ? They’ve kept a good few clean sheets on the road of late , and with their flare players returning this could be difficult .     • Just had a look. October 21 they lost to Forest. Since then unbeaten in 8 (3 draws, 5 wins). But only two teams in the top-half, Bournemouth and Villa, both draws. Otherwise its Wolves (draw) and wins against Ipswich, Brighton, Leicester, a 10-man West Ham and ManU. Before that it was 3 losses (Brentford, Everton, Forest) and a draw (Chelsea). Feel better now. • Last season we seemed to be able to fly out of the traps and put mediocre teams to bed in the first half, Championship style - West Ham and Forest 5-0s being the obvious examples but it happened more often than that. (It was the Willan/Robinson/Pereira combo I recall being so devastating). I'd love us to rediscover that knack and go 2-0 up early on tomorrow. • Tough game, palace pushing for Europe if you look last 15/20 games, shaky start where they had lots of injuries. CF who scores a lot of goals, England internationals all over the pitch (could start 5), including returning eze & Wharton, one of the best defences with top CBs in guehi/Lacroix, like us, they’re set up to function better away. Could go either way; although the forest performance in how we managed their counters was encouraging. I’d favour a draw if putting a bet on.
