Subject: If the 18/19 season is the one you are referring to in terms of the 8 goal contributions, its also worth pointing out that, at the time, (throughout that whole season) he was 18 years old. He was also being played as an inverted right winger for much of it, which seemed to destroy his confidence. Phil Foden, a year older, in his breakthrough season, got 7 contributions. For a team that beat everyone, every week.
In reply to: eganonoa 's message, "Small sample definitely, but if you look at the one season before this that ESR & Sess each had a full Premier League run they are very close: e.g. 8 goal contributions for Sess to ESR's 12, but each with Expected contribs of 8. Sess' time in the Championship FAR out did that of ESR at Huddersfield. Sess' & Nelson's respective times at Hoffenheim are about equal whereas Sess' best PL season is much better than Nelson's. I think we're seeing over-expectations of ESR/Nelson and under- of Sess" on Tuesday, March 18, 11:10:00pm
