Subject: When I read that it just seemed wrong and contrary to my impression. Where is the proof of what you assert? As far as I can see Wigan attendances were much higher 5 years before than they were 5 years after cup heroics. As a fan, I’d rather win the cup than notional league advancement; but I don’t kid myself it’d necessarily be better for the club long term.
