Subject: Exactly so. Someone was saying earlier this week about buying Nelson on the cheap because of the risk. Trouble is that we needed him and ESR firing this year so if they take up another year’s chunk of our budget and it doesn’t work, how do we penetrate packed defences which we’ve found a problem this year?

  • I like AP, but if it was me and I could get 15/20m I’d move him on, largely due age and how it would help us PSR wise, problem with ESR is now his negative PSR value, so unless someone offered similar to what we paid, which nobody will, then he’ll remain here, like when CFC wouldn’t sell lukaku, not because they wanted him, but because PSR hit would have been too big. I’d supplement him with a young creative player, who we can spread value over a long contract and on low wages.
