I just don’t get it, one side of the coin is we’ve shown great resilience to bounce back after a poor result and produce a good win, can’t remember a really bad run of results all season. Bournemouth just come off not winning in 8, with some really really bad results against the likes of Ipswich and West Ham, we’ve not had a run like that at any point. However, they’ve also had a brilliant run, winning 4 or 5 on the bounce and really getting some movement in the table as a result, BHA have had similar, forest, villa and everyone else around us have too, but we’ve never been able to put a run like that together, why is that?

We’ve not suffered substantial injuries compared to most, nor had many distractions, apart from decent cup run, but largely been playing once a week. As much as it’d been a season of great one off results, why haven’t we backed them up and shown a ruthlessness which could easily have seen us where forest are. For every Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle win, we’ve had a West Ham, a Southampton or a Utd game to back it up. Bournemouth, in my opinion, were there for the taking last night. Sure we may not play as well against deeper lying teams, but mentally we just don’t seem to have that edge to capitalise, back up a good result and really look up. What are we missing that stops us building and stringing a run together?

- Every team has injuries, we’ve had second lowest in the league (days to injury and number of injuries), behind only forest. We have no room for diop on our bench, really can’t have injuries being an excuse given what the likes of BHA, spurs, Utd and even Bournemouth have had to deak with. We do best when the opposition gives us room and the expectations are lower. There must be some psychology in that but there aren't enough quick forward runs into dangerous positions. Too much emphasis on holding positions in deep midfield and out wide? Not enough fluidity and imagination? Given the room our forward players are dangerous and defensively we're solid if midfield maintains their defensive shape. We have no natural goalscorers so when you have a tight game with few chances, unless Raul scores we aren't getting more than 2. Added to the fact we tend to concede 1 goal a game it leaves every game on a knife edge (NT) -- Waterboy, Tuesday, April 15, 08:31:49am (NoHost/84.67.210.3)
- Apart from the last game when Raul didn’t score snd we scored 3. We have plenty of scorers, our goals are spread out really well, only area I would agree is we don’t keep enough clean sheets and other area is set pieces, between Berge/lukic and all our defenders I think we have a couple of goals, that’s not enough, I’d actually say our attacking players have done well to keep us where we are despite getting no help from set pieces and goals from our defenders.
