Just a heads-up to anyone who's selfishly planning to drive a non-compliant vehicle to Villa away - Birmingham has a Clean Air Zone, so you'll have to pay a charge. And frankly it's the least you can do; after decades of polluting our cities and endangering countless lives this is one tiny step towards redemption.

People don't realise how dangerous air pollution is - it's a silent killer! Every breath you take in a city is basically a public health crisis. The Clean Air Zone isn't an inconvenience, it's a lifeline. We ought to be asking why more cities haven't taken bold action like Birmingham, Clean Air shouldn't be a luxury - it should be a right!
