• Every time we’ve come up against a top team in a tournament we’ve lost. We lost after being 1/0 up on our home tournament to an ok Italian team. This whilst having arguably best la liga, prem and bundelsiga players last season. Southgate is not a winner, he’s a good ambassador, tows the line, but ultimately failed when unbelievable opportunities presented themselves. Time for someone who’s actually won at the elite level to somehow drag us over the line from perennial failures to a win.   • Capello had those credentials too, but hopefully Tuchel's sufficiently different in practice. Speaks vastly better English for a start.     • Yeh I always felt capello wasn’t that bothered, needed a translator and sacked by Madrid for playing defensive football and felt like he was coming to the end as a manager. Tuchel to my mind is a bit earlier in his career, loves English football, no language issue and has proved tactically very flexible, I’m pretty excited to be honest, he’s best during knockout football and out smarting oppo managers, defo not Southgate’s strength. • I can’t wait to see Tuchel in a jacket and a waistcoat FA uniform. Can’t believe Jim at times of course he was and did ok with a world class squad,and yes TT is risky and can be let’s say volatile but the fact they’ve taken it makes me really interested again.
