I think that's a narrow interpretation of what Reed and Berge are. They are both capable of playing the disciplined defensive shield role, but also the box-to-box one. Think back two seasons ago and the Tete, Reed, BDR/Wilson right-side triangle with the forward cutting in and Reed driving down the right, interchanging with Tete. Was a major feature of our play. Agree with you on Cairney, but with Berge and Reed in midfield as well, he likely won't need to cover as much ground. -- SW6.doc

I’d say it a very apt description. Especially for reed. He is a dm who has been asked to play as 8, and in the vast majority of games, he looks like a dm who has been asked to play as an 8. - Id agree with that whenever reed gets further forward he looks nervous, in the short amount I've watched berge though he looks more comfortable in a forward position. Cairney will do well to have those two behind him as a 10 suits him more, he just wont press as much as AP off the ball.
