no excuses or rose tinted glasses about tonight . It’s not good enough. The adage that a Tuesday night up North sorts the men from the boys rings true. Our penalty takers had something like 300 international caps between them but we can’t beat a team like Preston over 90 mins.

We have two strikers who can’t score regularly and we have now scored 7 in 6 against oppo that includes two poor non PL teams. The lack of goals in this team and lack of composure with a pass in the final third is going to make it a very difficult season. How we never addressed this in 3 post Mitro windows is a massive failing.

The balance of the midfield needs to be addressed but Berge who was decent on Saturday had a shocker in a northern tussle he should have excelled in. Wilson and Cairney anonymous. Muniz absent. We will have 6pts from the first 7 games when the next block of games are done. Time for Silva to earn his corn….

Yes there’s one huge excuse, it was the RESERVES. If it had of been the first team, then I could see the need for anger. But it wasn’t. Our first team is a lot better than our second string, so the only one to blame is silva for his team selection. - Only it wasn’t our reserves . All of those players except Benda will play at least 10 games this season. And as I said over 300 caps in the XI that finished something like 6-7 of the players played on Saturday ! So there are no excuses .   - They were our reserves who will only start if our first team players get injured suspended or get a massive loss of form. So you can call it the modern day squad players, but it’s still the same thing as the reserves. And no one would be that fussed if none of those starting 11 start a game for us this season.         ? The f course there is a chance of game time, through injuries, suspension and loss of form. Marco is going to play that 11, again against Newcastle if say lukic gets injured. I got annoyed when Chris Smalling and with the youth team on the bench when we played in Sofia, but this was the polar opposite, definitely the strongest 2nd string ever at Fulham by a country mile.
