Subject: As someone who lost one parent in my early twenties, and the other in my thirties, i can absolutely assure you that it's not inevitable that you think like that. Everyone reacts to that kind of thing completely differently. For 10 years i had an overwhelming sense of wanting to do things/do them in a certain way that my mother would have been proud of me. My own mortality wasn't the slightest consideration.
