Subject: Moments win games

There were a lot of frustrations and dissapointmes after Saturdays game and we all feel the same. If we take a step back and reflect logically it was one certainly again moments that changed the game. We scored the first goal and had the ascendancy. We conceded because of a lucky deflected effort and they gained ascendancy. We could have got momentum back in our favour but we miss a penalty which deflates us. Even then our best player on the day missed two golden opportunities to score with headers a yard away from goal. If he converts them it's a different scenario. The only obvious negative for me was the poor marking to allow Watkins a free header . This gets compounded by us losing the ball high up the pitch with players out of position allowing them to break quickly and feed Watkins. The penalty for me could have gone either way, we as many have said had a similar situation in the box which was not given. For me it was soft and the referee could have played on, another moment. With ten men you think it cannot get any worse and they get more luck with an own goal. I thought with ten men and the changes Marco made we did OK against 11 and still managed to create chances. So my main point is against a good side it wasn't that bad a performance on another day we could have won it. I can agree on the day certain players were below par but even so it was a game where if certain moments had gone our way we win.Onwards and upwards still a long way to go.
