Had he pried into his host's thoughts, the young vampire might have found a comrade in the male who too juggled a precarious act of women and worldly pleasures only to find that such an elaborate web of associations did, in fact, eventually collapse around its creator, no matter how skillfully woven. A matching pair of rogues, it seemed. Perhaps it was a universal characteristic of the vampiric male. Yes, blame it on the blood.
As for fine dining, it wasn't a matter of abhorring anything (excect cold)- it was entirely a matter of his stomach couldn't tolerate any reminder of the splendors of mortal cuisine. Why he did not know, but for their sake he would have to decline a display tonight.
As for Bri, she better not be attempting to do herself in again! The vampire's one act of random compassion in centuries and she flush it down the drain? No, she ought to take pride in the fact that she had been the one he opted to help. Not that it was any great sweetness on his part, but hey, don't ask questions when handed a second chance!
Just like he wasn't about to question the invitation to warm up! Stepping in the direction of the fire with a gentel nod of his head to Max and a "The pleasure is mine" and a "thank you" to Zeth's offer, he drew away to stand before the fire, eyes downcast to the dancing flame though obviously very much paying attention to the othes, sensing the tension in the room and intrigued as always by a conflict.
