She glanced up her eyes full of frustration, certain her mother had come back over to berate her some more about her unfortunate pregnancy. Behold the shock when she found another figure standing, rather unsteadily, there instead. She snorted and narrowed her gaze suspiciously at the new mare. And then another crunch echoed in her ears as the stallion came into view. At once her breathing intensified and her eyes rolled baring white until she caught a drag of the cologne put off by this particular male. Slowly her breaths relaxed as she remembered he was not the one, nor would he do her any particular harm. And finally a third figure approached; clearly her hiding place was not what she had imagined. But this figurine was a familiar face, and one she almost dreaded as much as her mother. Not because she did not care for the raven seraph, but because of the shame she felt for the position she had gotten herself in. The chestnut mare’s head dropped down as Moonlight approached and she silently berated herself again for the state she was in. The single word brought her head back up a fraction to peer at the other female, and she whuffed softly in defeat. She couldn’t hide forever anyway. “I am so sorry.” The words, barely audible, crept past her soft lips as she gazed at the ground. Surely the birth of that stallion’s progeny in the Valley would bring about something bad. He had not seemed the type to simple let things go. And she was certain he would eventually come looking for his child, the one he had been so keen to produce. But then again, she could be hopeful that he had forgotten of her by now. Maybe. |
