According to the Bene Gesserit definition, a human is one who can go against her own instincts (or something like that). After recent thought based on this post, I believe that a human is the creature that is creative.

The Tleilaxu have changed themselves quite a bit, yet they are still very much human in spirit, as has been clearly seen in books 5 and 6.
