from CD..

""Idaho recognized none of the visible star patterns but he had expected that.""

VISIBLE Star patterns... it does not say there are TONS of Stars or even more then a handful... does not say a universe full of stars... it's perfectly ambivalent. (Thanks Frank)

in SoD (the New one) when he talks about gasses and nebulae and such he says "the view has not changed..."

changed since when.. five minutes ago? when he last looked? a week? a year? two? three?

It doesn't say.

you are being far too critical.

I look at it this way...

You either believe the authors are full of shit and making this all up as they go along.. and that they never read ANY of the dune books ignored everything including the end of CD and made such a glaring mistake..

OR

these are Franks ideas gotten from...

"papers and old-style floppy computer disks that included comprehensive notes for an unpublished "DUNE 7" -- the long-awaited sequel to CHAPTERHOUSE: DUNE! Kevin and Brian knew for certain where Frank Herbert had been headed."

I prefer to think they are NOT incompetent writers and know exactly how CD ended. They also had access to what Frank wanted to do and are being diligent to his dream.

either way I like it ... I refuse to be so critical and point and say "oh that's wrong.. this is wrong.. that's just fucked up.. etc"

I'll keep my criticisms until the final book is published. Until then I'm just glad to be able to read anything new that finishes what Frank started
