Subject: BG vs Machines in Dune 7

I think that the BG/HM will square off against some sort of machine presense in Dune 7. Something RavensZim posted in reply to my Saint Chenoeh post got me thinking. To quote RavensZim's very thoughtful reply:

'Chenoeh's failure at the agony represents the most valorous part of being human. She strived to great heights, knowing that all odds were against her, (especially after the Tyrant's prediction) and fell in the attempt to become something better than just the sum of her parts.
Chenoeh represents the "noble purpose" that Leto wants the Bene Gesserit to maintain.'

The BG went from political players to noble purpose in HoD with the cave writing/Odrade scene and by joining Honered Matre's and embracing Love.

From CoD and Farad'n's graduation:
"I stand in the sacred human presense. As I do now, so should you someday. I pray to your presense that this be so. The future remains uncertain and so it should, for it is a canvas upon which we paint our desires. Thus always the human condition faces a beautifully empty canvas. We possess only this moment in which to dedicate ourselves continuously to the sacred presense which we share and create." (CoD, pg.305)

The BG mission statement is the maturation of the human race. It's my theory that Leto II kept the BG in existence to rehumanize the scatterings in response to the gathering storm of Machines out there.

Comments please, AntiPaul
