Wednesday Morning Quarterbacking...on Friday Night -- Katherine, 21:46:55 04/29/05 Fri
Garsh, it's been so long since I've been on the pooter (for those of you who don't know--and only a few probably do--my brother suddenly passed away on September 25, 2004, and it's been a very painful year for me and my family). I hope I remember how to do this.
I just had to come here tonight and express my thoughts on the end of an era. As a few have expressed below, this place used to be a hustling, bustling beehive of activity (and nut cases) where everyone got along and we understood that not everyone had the same POV. That's what made it fun. I just hope that for the days to come, people will allow others to express their opinions and not take anything too seriously.
I've met some remarkable people here (through email and in person) and cherish all those memories we made because of a television show. Memories such as: Lu putting her children in the oven, MichelleB's fascinating typos--especially, "Hell to Mr. Lu.", kathym's promise to prance down PA Ave if Mic and Mac got married, poor Trevor getting slammed for posting his "twist" on the spoiler for "Adrift", Helen's "Diary of Renee Peterson", Mama Cass's crush on Tiner, C & Canrane egging Lu on, LisaR's lust for the Admiral, SD and his ficus, Marco drooling over anything CB, Tammie's persuasion to start up a web site for Bud, Mira's analysis, etc. etc. (I'm positive I've forgotten many things, so forgive me!)
As for the show, I'll miss it. No doubt about it. I would have watched the spin-off, but alas, I'm not in the right demographic anyway (nevermind that I *was* when JAG debuted. ROTFL!). I even surprised myself at how I shed a tear when the final credits rolled.
So...to Harm, Mac, AJ, Bud, Harriet, Tiner, Gunny, Mic, Coates, Webb, Mike(y), Renee, Singer, Cresswell, the rest of that cast, crew, HarrietJAG, Chas and DPB...Fair Winds and Following Seas! Thank you for 10 seasons and best of luck in your future!
OH...almost forgot...here's the *real* unfinished business...What the HECK is the name of Bud and Harriet's other baby???? Sheesh...Inquiring minds want to know!

- DB finally saw the $$$ signs. The ending was a little disappointing, we could have done without Yuck and had more Harm and Mac . But at least he put them together forever and it was sweet. I hope CB and DJE tell us what the sexy and the wild and shocking endings would have been. Just out of curiosity. I would have liked to have seen Mac in bed with Harm to get that awful picture of her with Webb out of my head. UGH. I'm back for a visit! Used to post here regularly, but as real life intervened I had to let it go. Started posting here the beginning of season 3 and visited regularly for several seasons!
Some of the things we were into posting then were "You know you've been watching too much JAG....." and had a list of over 100 reasons! That made it to the JAG Asylum page. We ran a JAG University for a while, as well as many other fun things!

As a former combat medic who served with the 101 Airborne Division during the Vietnam war, I would like to take a moment to thank the cast and crew of JAG for paying it's respects to all Vietnam Vets. From the storyline about Harm's dad to the Vietnam Vet "Rosco", the show always tried to show the human cost of that war. From a personal viewpoint, the Christmas episode in which Harm is at "The Wall" and meet's the singer that knew Harm's dad was one of the best for me. I have scanned this message board for years, and this is my second (and probably last) post. I've been a fan of the show since it's start 10 years ago. IT WILL BE MISSED. Best of luck to all.

My dear shippers, it grieves my heart to tell you this, but the unfortunate fact is that last night was all a figment of someone's imagination.
Last night, after the coin toss, Harm woke up and realized that that whole thing had just been a very bizarre dream. However it did inspire him to take the first step down a path which I have every confidence will bring him much more happiness. He called me on the phone and told me that he loved me.
And then I woke up.

Hi guys. I have been reading the board for the past hour and laughing just like the old times. I sure have missed you guys. We sure had a great time for couple of years. Remember we were talking about finding another show that we all would watch if JAG got cancelled back in the sixth season. Anyhow, watched last night’s episode. It was an OK episode. Those old clips were fun to watch. I had not seen a few of them. For example the one that seemed Harm and Mac were in the bed and Mac said that why did you come this many miles, and Harm said you know why, yes, of course, a usual Harm response. Which episode was that? And the other one that seems that they were sitting by the ocean. Where they really on location? It felt a bit of staged to me, like they were sitting in front of a green curtain and the ocean was added later. And wow, finally Mac and Webb were an item. There were times that I felt those two were a good match. I have to catch them in the reruns I guess. You know when it was all done and finished what I started thinking. The JAG yahoo group. Remember that beside Harriet JAG there was another person from JAG production posting there. He (somehow we assume he was male) he said that he would tell who he is when the series came to an end. Has he reveled who he is? I know, real weird, I have no idea how this thought has gotten into my head.
Anyway, it was good to remember the good old days. I know that I enjoyed JAG simply because I could come here and talk to you guys. I loved it when people saw the same scene and interpreted differently. I loved it when people did not take things very seriously, and I loved it when they did, when they so passionately defended their ideas.
Anyway, good to be back here for one last time.

- Hi, Rosie. I loved the clips, too, especially when they seemed to both be thinking about them at the same time. Of the two you mentioned not knowing--the one on the bed was from the Paraguay fiasco, and I'm pretty sure it was A Tangled Webb II. The beach scene was from the first episode of this year, Hail and Farewell II (aka Going After Webb), right after Webb's mother kills the terrorist, and Mac tells Webb to take a hike. Yes I agree with all of you that this was the best ever ending to any series. I was holding my breath through the entire episode hoping that they did want to get married and then decide that it was best to go their own ways because of each of their careers. I'm SOOOOO GLAD IT ENDED THIS WAY!!!!!!!!! I know it made my night. I was on my way to work and couldn't help think about the show and it's ending. I hope they put all of the series on DVDs very very soon. I know that I would buy them.
Are all of you going to stay in touch here on this web? I would like to see it continue and reminese over all of the episodes as we have. We could hash over old times with Mac and Harm as the main theme. Thanks for the great last episode. MarneyU

This is to all the old posters at Maeve's - all of you guys who were here when I was twelve, who freaked out because I was twelve and thus became my cyber mommies.
The finale of JAG ends a chapter in my life that I will never forget. If you think about it, I've been JAG obsessed for my entire adolescence thus far. When I started watching JAG in sixth grade, I was the little made fun of shy girl who no one liked. I liked JAG because Mac stood up for herself, and I wanted to be like her. I started to come out of my corner, and believe it or not, JAG has actually helped me become the person that I am today.
In addition, this board also did alot for me. Before I found the board, I kept "JAG diaries" in which I wrote about episodes and my thoughts on them. I found this place and it was like a dream come true - all these other crazy people who understood. Adolescence, as we know, is a difficult time in anyone's life and being here with you guys to help me out really made it a better experience for me. We laughed, we had fun, we stayed up late and drank lemonade that Harm stirred with his finger. When I arrived, we were in mid-spatula-kick and just barely post-children-in-the-oven. I'd have to say the high point of Maeve's. This board was such a wonderful community and all of you guys were so great. When my parents got divorced a month after I found the board, I went into Elfy's chat to talk to you guys about it. LiJo was my chat mommy ;) and she was so nice and understanding. You guys cheered me up like crazy that night and I went to bed happy. When I took a vacation to Oregon in July, I missed you all so much. It was hard to go without the board for a week (all too sane!)
When I first came here, I thought you guys were the greatest thing since sliced bread (I still think you're awesome.) Lu, Aria, Canrane, C, Michelle, Katherine, Serena, PB, Amanda, LiJo -- All of you guys were like my heroes or something. I had so much fun coming on here even when RL kind of sucked, it provided the perfect escape and you guys understood the insanity that was my JAG obsession.
I encourage every one of you, even the newbies, to go back and read the GLA archive and the JAGtales. Wonderful, wonderful times. We had more fun... Last night was an excellent way to end the series and this chapter in our lives. It was wonderful to see all the 'oldbies' again and I have missed you all so much. Please, email me and keep in touch. Maybe we could start an ex-posters-of-Maeve's yahoo group or something - not specifically to talk about JAG or anything just to keep in touch and hit each other with spatulas. ;) Thank you guys so much for everything you have done for me. I will continue to be around here as well as other places on the net, will remain a faithful NCIS viewer, and a faithful JAG Fanfest East attendee for as long as they are held. Thank you so much guys. I love ya all, even the alien. ;)

Now that it is all over I am finally posting. What a great ending! I've been lurking on this board probably longer than most. I have loved jag for years because it has parralleled my life. My husband and I knew each other for 6 years (we were a bit faster than Harm and Mac) before "fate" brought us finally together after being stationed in different parts of the world, 2 serious girlfriends for him, 2 serious boyfriends for me, and one serious crash. Through it all we have been best of friends. By the way, we've now had four kids added to the happy ending, and my youngest loves planes - must get that from my husband, he's the flyboy. I hate flying! Congratulations to Harm and Mac on THEIR success story!

Hi yall, a newby poster, but a lurker finally posts. What a perfect ending, it is one that caters to both H/M fans, and shippers and nonshippers. I loved the flashbacks. Too bad as many of you have already posted the Adm, Tiner, Gunny, etc. didn't show up. I wish I had started watching the series eariler. I got hooked as a high school freshman 3 yrs ago. This is the first time I have posted on this board. After watching this last episode of Jag I feel as though there has been a death in my family. For the last 10 years Jag has been part of my life.
I agree with the person who wrote to CBS concerning wanting to appeal to 18-39 year olds. It boggles my mind that CBS sysematically destroyed Jag. First the moved it to Friday and second the story line and Vukovic ruined the show. When was it written that older folks don't count? I don't know any 18 year olds that sit in on Friday nights! This show was destroyed bit by bit and I believe the credit goes to DPB and Les Moonves of CBS. I cannot believe that they allowed a perfectly wonderful, successful show to be destroyed bit by bit.
I for one are done watching CBS. I prefer to watch shows of substance and the remarks about the 18-39 year olds being the only ones that count say to me that nothing that network produces is of value!
I shall miss Jag very much. Thanks for allowing me to post. I hope that sometime in the future we can purchase DVD's of the show.

Most of the show devoted to flash backs... All the young and the hip i.e. Coats and yeah [we know if JAG had continued] Yuck would have joined Mac in San Diego...
Bud still under Harriet's thumb, and boy did she let herself go after leaving the JAG office.. Bud should have gone to London with Harm..
Since Yuck had his own segment, you know he if the show hadn't been canceled he'd be around next season..
Ahh and young Miky too in love with the JAG's daughter, he'd guest star plenty if they hadn't canceled completely..
Now for the question, who resigned? So the lovers can get married? Wouldn't you KNOW THERE'D BE A COP OUT LIKE A COIN TOSS? In front of witnesses yet.. Oh I am so happy to give up my plumb assignment for you dear...BLAH BLAH BLAH...
Harm wins.... So for the season opener we have a flash back to the coin toss..Mac "I don't believe this you always come up smelling like a rose, it has always been career first with you... THE WEDDING IS OFF! Or something like that, she'd have to explain why she is heading up JAg command in San Deigo and isn't MRS CAPTIAN HARMON RABB.. Or is Harm really there but spending most of his time at him Mom's art gallery? Or Harm tragicaly fell off the bar stool and hit his head and was killed before the coin hit the floor?
OR ALTERNATIVE FLASHBACK.. Mac won the coin toss and just as they were about to kiss and Harm is about to hand in his resignation.. IN WALKS RENEE... "I broke up with the undertaker because DNA PROVES THE KIDS ARE YOURS! I WANT CHILD SUPPORT..." Mac quietly sits behind her desk and takes advice from Coats and point out ethical short comings to Yuck and has thinks about what might have been...
But the truth is neither Harm nor Mac really wanted to volunteerly give up their career for the other.. Maybe the best would have been if they both retired.. I am not shipper, but I would have liked Mac and Harm to really be honest about this instead of all the lip locking and realize the sad truth, that duty and ambition will always be first for both of them....Even though they do love one another, it just isn't meant to be...

- I was a non-shipper for most of my time here, but I thought it was a perfect ending. I feel for the shippers and want them happy. I could care less, so it's no big deal for me. And what ELSE were TPTB supposed to do? If Harm wins the toss, Mac fans are pissed. If Mac wins, Harm fans are pissed. It's the series finale. Everyone wants to feel good. Did anyone notice that the flashback to the kiss in LifeLine was cut short??? I did, and that really puzzles me. I thought they would have also put in the scene from Silent Service where Harm has to give Mac mouth-to-mouth after that psychopath chokes her. I felt the agony that both were going through before the scenes in his apartment,you could literally feel the love between them, expressed so openly.
Also, I loved the way Mac told Yucko "he** no" to him askign to join her staff. I swera, that man was ASKING...no..BEGGING to be charged with insubordination. He is such a waste of good air supply.

ok guys humor me for a second....
First of all ahhhhhh the kiss--- I am very sure that Mac and her sailor finally slept together--why couldn't they have shown some of those scenes?!! Instead they showed that (I am calm LOL) Vukovic ------ anyway, Mac and Harm getting married was music to my ears!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Mac called tails--- do you guys notice that Mac has ALWAYS called Tails and Harm has always won the coin tosses???? Hmmmmm what do ya all think? Did Mac do tails again because she knew Harm always won-- in other words, was this Mac's way of saying I give I resign???? Hmmmm just some food for thought :-) Anyway again ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh LOL Also did anyone else cry when they showed Harm thinking back (the first flashbacks of the nite)? I DID!!! LOL .... ok so now bring on the 2 hour movie where we can see Harriett as Matron of Honor and Bud as Best Man--- how cute was it seeing Harriet going crazy when she came to the bar and congratulated them?! I also thought it was so sweet that they told Bud and Harriett first! :-) I can picture Harriett screaming over the phone as Mac was telling her the news!! LOL Anyway Semper Fi JAG now and always!!!! They will never be forgotten (not as long as they have re-runs that is ;-)).

OH MY GODDD!!!!!! IT WAS THE BEST EPISODE EVER!!!! I nearly hyperventilated, I promise. I have never, ever had my heart do so many flip-flops, and great god almighty that KISS!!!!!!! Sweet Jesus I KNOW they HAD to have DONE *IT*...really (oh if we had just seen them disappear towards the floor *waahhh*). How beautiful, beautifully written, and maybe, just maybe we can have a JAG movie in a year or two. I have watched those two scenes over and over and over...and I nearly cried when they did the flashback memories, that by far was the saddest thing, showing them together through it all. They seemed (CB and DJE) so natural in those last ten minutes, like they were truly ready for their characters to get together. I loved how she came up to him and they shared a quick kiss, that was so natural and intimate, as well as the way they cuddled and he hugged her so close. He looked at her so lovingly it's hard to remember that they are married to other people in real life. Gosh, I needed me some oxygen after all that...I'm still breathless hahahaha.
BUT TOO MUCH YUKOSUCK!!! WHO THE HE** CARED ABOUT HIM AND HIS STUPID FATHER (lying little POS)??Did anyone of you catch the similarity between Harm and Yick losing their fathers at the same age? I swear, precious Harm and Mac time wasted on the biggest POS DPB has ever created...what a waste!
I also have a question...will someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send me a copy of the episode? Of course, I have it on DVD and VHS, but the stupid weather center down here JUST HAD to run a tornado warning across the screen the ENTIRE EPISODE. Like I could care less if a tornado was coming? If it had been barreling down my road and JAG had still been on, guess where my sweet tushi would have been? Yep. Right in front of the t.v. I would't have cared( let it take me away!!!). I will be mroe than happy to send the money to cover cost/shipping, or other expenses. Anyone...I am begging you to.

DB was true to his word. He stated early on that if Harm & Mac got together, it would be at the very end. I feel like I just said goodbye to a good friend. During the final scene, I couldn't help thinking of the Admiral, Gunny, Webb and Tiner. While I love Harm & Mac, what made the show great was the whole collection of characters. By the way, during last week's episode, did you see Bud's reaction to Harm's promotion. He had such a look pride. Bud is one of the great supporting characters in TV history. And it's only appropriate that Harm and Mac hook up. Good episode. Great series!! It will be missed.

I'll post a longer evaluation later - right now I'm just busy feeling stuff.
So I definitely cried through every single one of the flashbacks and commercial breaks because we're losing JAG. Having been 12 when I first started watching JAG, it actually did play a part in shaping my life. I used to get picked on, but Mac made me want to stand up for myself. And Harm and Mac made me believe in love after my parents divorced.
After JAG I was crying - but I couldn't decide happy or sad. Sad that it's leaving... left... but ECSTATICALLY (sp?) HAPPY ABOUT THE ENDING!!!!
So who else flipped coins right after the show to see where they'd end up? I got heads - London.
I also went over to my best friend's house which is across the street crying and telling her about it because she knows JAG too, she reads my fanfiction and listens to me ramble. She loves it too. Ten o clock at night, I come over to her house crying over a TV show and she understands. LOL.
In the end I decided on happy. THEY ARE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!! And quite frankly I don't CARE where, did you SEE them kissing? WOW I sure did get butterflies and chills. It was like a culmination of everything that has been building for nine years - it was like they finally opened up and let the truth out all in one moment. And then at the end, did you see her snuggle into his side, did you see them kiss as a greeting, did you see them TELL EVERYONE THAT THEY ARE ENGAGED?!
I don't think I've been happier since I found out I was going to my first JAG fanfest east!

Hi guys,
Just dropping by. I haven't been here in ages and I haven't kept up with JAG either, but I remember when this board was my life! I'd refresh every minute during lunch hour. The amazing thing was that every time I did, there would be new posts.
I made a lot of friendships here and have a lot of wonderful memories. Including...
Lu, spatulas, poofing, GLAs, Thuding, Tiner fainting in RRs, Sven & Jorgen, SDs affair with a ficus, Michelle spewing, ranting and calling Harm a doofus. Discussions about Katherine's various alien parts, Wednesday morning quarterbacking on fridays, Rosie's quizes, Brigitte and her collages, Radioactive flying monkeys, piratey shirts, the BLA, The OOHers, SPASMs, TWUM (Those Who Understand MichelleB), GotB's la la la's, Iron turtlenecks...
So many wonderful, wonderful memories and wonderful posters.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say Thank You to Maeve. This is the first internet community I've ever been involved with. I'd also like to say thank you to the many posters who I've interacted with over the years. You are what made this place the *best* internet community I have ever been involved with.

I've been a regular to this board for longer than I can remember, but only posting every now and then. I've sworn off JAG and gotten sucked back into it too many times! But I am so excited about tonight's episode. It's going to be a good one. Only thing is, I'm going out of town. I have my VCR set to tape at 9pm, but a lot of the time, stuff here is pre-empted for anything the local CBS might care to throw my way. So, somebody out there, please tell me you will record it on video and sell it to me in case I don't get it tonight!! Happy watching!
