Subject: Phil, none of the players that left have done anything elsewhere; as for big bodies leaving; who would that be? Ollie, Mike W. not really quality bigs; as for character; it is character that got Mitchell tossed and Mel was a pain in the butt last year and played NO DEFENSE!; maybe you were referring to Stu as a "high character" but not in a positive way!
In reply to: Alan 's message, "Grote started 1 game since leaving Duquesne. Mitchell heading to jail. Jury out on Bolding. And the rest of the cast ofs are playing intramural pick-up games (basically). Does this show that RE can cut and run or does it speak to poor recruiting assessments?" on Saturday, December 11, 11:44:47pm

  • The turnover, as mentioned by Phil95, above is significantly higher at DU than at most other schools. I would like more stability, but the situation "Is what it is." One thought on Mel, he is painted in an unfavorable light sometimes and I'm not sure that is 100% based on fact. There were several situations with Mel which were never disclosed. Had the story come out Mel would not be viewed as he currently is. On the court, his "D" while not very good, did not stand out as horrendous as not much "D" was played by last years team. • Many times transfers just didn't fit in with the team they were at. I think Mel was used to being the go to man and here it is Clark and Saunders. I wonder how he would have accepted TJ's emerging role? Still I wish him well and expect he will excell at FDU. (NT) -- philldogg, Wednesday, December 15, 03:39:03pm
