Subject: Duquesne has done the "you cant do that" at palumbo this year. It seems like too many schools do that cheer along with "this is our house", etc etc..... (inside)
In reply to: Seen on Miltenberger St 's message, "those dorks need white boards and instructions to know what to say. Cheese balls! In HS, in the 80s, we did the newspaper thing during introductions...." on Thursday, December 02, 03:40:18pm

You gotta be either really loud or creative to give an advantage, and since its tough to coordinate 1000+ students in a very large CEC(most of which dont normally go to games), being as loud as possible was probably all you could hope for. Palumbo center makes it easier for students to be heard- like chanting "tuck your shirt in" and then seeing a Bluefield player do it, or "whoopi goldberg"-london warren, "taser"- levance fields, etc. you need to come up with a phrase for a couple differnt players and do it every time they touch the ball(along with the normal Duquesne and defense chants). in my high school's basketball section, students went all out- like getting pictures of a player's mom and chanting her name every time he touched the ball, or calling a player "caveman" and making a big geico sign(referring to suzie mcconnell-serio's son). things like calling Kwamain Mitchell a rapist might be overboard, but stuff like that makes the game more fun and can affect the game
