That's quite a bit of speculation, isn't it? Especially about a coach that you know nothing about save for a few quotes over the past two days. Isn't it also possible that this coach is looking out for a kid who verballed to the first place he visited, and just wants him to slow down a bit? - Yes, I know that, hence my emphasis on the word SECOND. Look, for all I know the guy is a scum as you describe, but I don't see anywhere where he said anything about them "not going through" him. If he is mentoring the kid (as a good coach should do) then I see nothing wrong with him saying, "son, there may be a school that's a better fit for you, maybe you should visit some other places just to be sure."
