I think this schedule is terrible. You can try to spin it with stats like RPI and SOS but I think it is a tremendous waste in opportunity. We return 4 starters and unveil the best freshman class in years and we open up against a bad Div 2 school. We put millions into improvements into Polumbo and there is not one meaningful game the students can go see until January (Temple). We inaugurate the Consol and don't bring in one name school that would not otherwise be here. There is very little to make recruits go WOW or for the students to circle the dates or alumni to watch SportsCenter. LaSalle goes to Cancun, Richmond to the Bahamas, Dayton to Maui next year and the exotic spot for the Dukes is Houston Baptist. I understand that we are not a BCS school nr or we a high level mid major YET,however, if we want to get there, we need to start acting like one. Rant ended. And now to our regularly scheduled program.

I kinda agree with you. George Mason is a good opponent, but I'd like to see at least one mid level BCS team coming in. Even if it took doing a 2 for 1 to get them to come. (NT) -- duq81, Wednesday, September 08, 11:50:51am

    - sometimes a team like that will travel if they have a player or coach from that particular area, etc. UNC does that quite a bit..they played at ST L a few years ago b/c tyler hansbrough was from Missouri, they played at college of charleston last year b/c roy williams and bobby cremins are good friends and ol roy wanted to help his friend out with a big time home game for CoC, which sort of backfired for unc... i think we are in a weird spot where most mid level BCS teams dont want to play us. We cant offer a huge guarantee for a home game, plus the chance we will beat them. They also probably dont want to schedule us at home for fear we would beat them. its much simpler for them to scheduled a meac team, give them 250,000 and kick their butts (NT) -- c, Wednesday, September 08, 02:39:35pm
