• At the end of the day, this proves what any basketball person will say, shooting and defense win games, not 7 footers that lumber around in the paint. In RE's system, you need guys that can run the floor and that will translate to some wins automatically. If these same guys can shoot the ball, then that translates into a bunch of wins. Ron got 4 frosh that can run the floor in this class and 2 of them that can really shoot it - TJ and JJ. It has been and always will be the guard play that determines the better teams in the non-BCS conferences and I feel good about our guards in the future.     • Sure. But he is athletic and can run, tough to find big men that can do what he does. James was pretty close. • There are situations when the lack of height can really hurt you; 1) you can't shoot from the outside; 2) opposition has a big man that we can't handle one on one and you are forced to double team, esp. if opponent has decent outside shooters; 3) opponent has 2 or more quality big men. Examples: we saw #1 all last year; #2 was seen in the Bonas games where inside Nicholson / outside Matthews; and #3 with Temple with Allen/Eric or Richmond with Geriot/Harper.
