I CAN NEVER GET CANARSIE OUT OF MY MIND. I GO THERE SOMETIMES TO JUST DRIVE AROUND, BUT IT'S NOT THE SAME. YET IT WILL ALWAYS BE MY HOME. I WENT TO PS 115, JHS 211 AND SJ TILDEN HS. DO ANY OF YOU FEEL THE SAME. DROP ME A LINE. WOULD LOVE HEARING FROM OLD FRIENDS AND NEW.

there is no place like canarsie and no matter how it changes our memories will always be there --i was born in canarsie raised down the back married moved to ridgewood and came back to my home in canarsie where i lived for 30 years before moving to florida --whenever i get together with old friends that is all we talk about the bread store on ave L (theresa's) original pizza which is still there--kennys , maureens on ave L and 93rd and of course the movies--do you remember when the movies was st jude chruch before it was built??? i could go on an on

Wow I haven't heard down the back in years. Marge you got to be and oldtimer. Canarsie had it's own language. Such as down the back, the other side and the other end. Do you remember Joe's pay dump? Quess when your born and raised in Canarsie it's in your blood, My family was there since the 1920's I was the last one to leave in 94. My hart breakes every time I drive through it. Wish I could go back to the old days.
