People (even likely some writers within ME) got hung up on the magic-as-drug metaphor and seem to forget that power was the real narcotic.

I was beginning to suspect that I was the only one that noticed.

Note that she was also less than respectful of boundaries when her primary tool was a computer connected to the internet.

BTW I don't remember Willow getting into Wicca as a religion. She cast spells, but my recollection is that she didn't get involved with a would-be Wiccan group because they wouldn't be casting spells.
