Norika had curled up into a ball, and gone to sleep on its back. you found that you got an unusual aura from Ah'Kaia as well. it was then that you realized that you really had no idea what the Serpents Heart was, other than a large sphere of some kind. you made a mental note to ask her about it once you found a place to stop. you had been walking for only a few moments before you heard the wings of the Emerald as it began to rise from where it had landed. you kept walking, hoping for a mirical. luckily, you got it. every time the Emerald seemed to be drawing too close, Treyvan's locket started to glow, and it turned around. you walked around inside and outside the town for what seemed like a full day. finally, you had to accept that there was nowhere to hide Norika and Saalem. and you could not very well have the Emerald Dragon on your back all day. you sighed, and headed to the grass land outside of the town. a few miles out, Saalem roared to attract the Emerald, and Treyvan stopped distorting its mind. then it came with all of the force that it could muster. it landed with a thud, wings kicking up all manor of dust and debris. the Rider climbed from its back, and took a place between you and his dragon. he was not exactly old, but he was easily in his thirties.*~*~ i am Kael, Rider of proud Emerald Aremeth. i come seeking Ruby and Rider, Saalem and Norika. my dragon here seeks a way to return to the Sanctuary, and for that to happen, they must perish. for helping them, you shall die as well. ~*~*he made a gesture to point out your party, Kaori's party, and the additional members from neither side or both.*~*~ it is the will of Arameth, prepare to accept your fate.... ~*~*he got out of the way, which was when you noticed something very wrong. the Rider was a Sentinel.... perhaps that was how the dragon had kept bonding with several people, and had never died with them. he had been bonding to half-spirited people, then draining their life energy when he had no more use for them. the dragon rose to its hind legs, and bared its fangs and claws. your first reaction was 'Oh, this shouldn't be too bad...' but then the fangs and claws got larger, and your thought turned to 'Oh shit....' true, the Emeralds did not look too fierce, until they decided that they wanted to fight. you took a step back as it let loose a column of fire into the air, and began its advance.*~*~ [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
