Subject: Conformation???

Webster's:--Conformation n. the manner in wich a body is shaped;structure.
WHY is this such a problem in the working dog world?WHY do trainers compare this to show dogs?
Without proper Conformation you have a dog that can't move. The mechanics of movement will not be present without proper conformation.
Example: SHOULDER ANGULATION is the angle that is formed by the slope of the shoulder blade with a line drawn parallel to the ground. The desired conformation of the shoulder is long and sloping, with the scapula forming an angle of approximately45%-55%.This is referred to as a shoulder assembly that is "well laid back"This conformation confers optimal forward movement of the front assembly legs because it is associated with maximume extention of the front legs. This results in a long level stride.
HELLO--IMO thats PROPER MOVEMENT!!!
Some of you that are against conformation please explain to me how you get proper movement without conformation.
