I was having an attack of poster's regret...LOL!

The crazy thing about this whole conversation is that, as you know, I am actually a complete and total HR and I bought -- oh, did I ever, hook, line and sinker -- RD's portrayal of a man with a re-awakening conscience and soul who came to love Nikita and would do anything to keep her alive and, eventually, happy.

But his recovery into an admirable, if flawed (why, exactly, did he have to lie to her at the end to help him get Adam back?), man was valuable, to me anyway, only because it made him a worthy partner to her, because she deserved so much better than her life had given.

And I was able to believe in Michael's development because, from the begining, he never appeared to have any personal need for revenge and, in those brief opportunities that presented themselves, he would cover for the human failings of those under his command and because he never, again in the tiny areas where he had the opportunity to show it, seemed to take any pleasure in infliciting section ordered pain and appeared to try to deflect cruelty aimed at others when he could. From such seeds, a man could grow.
