Shantal stood beside the double doors to the private garden when Onnia exited the bathroom, she snapped her head around and sighed as she watched the old woman step slowly toward the bed. Shantal knew that the next few minutes would be
critical for all of them. If Michael recovered quickly he would have a better chance to get back to his wife sooner. But for now Shantal had to keep him calm and alive. She pulled her coppery hair back into a tight ponytail and sighed, turning she closed the double doors and slowly returned to the bed.
“Will this work Onnia?”
Onnia nodded as she carefully placed the large jug on the table.
“We’ll see child.” The old woman said as she sat on the bed and opened her bag.
Shantal leaned closer to see what was inside the jug, she gently dabbed at her nose as the smell reached her nostrils. She gazed at Michael, her fingers automatically brushing the stray curls off his forehead.
“He has to drink all that Onnia?”
“Yes every last drop, and if he vomits I will have to make another jug full.” Onnia answered as she opened a small red bag and dropped a hand full of herbs into the mix, slowly mixing the potion she nodded at Shantal. “Bring Gadari, this man will not drink the potion willingly.”
Shantal frowned, noticing how unresponsive Michael was, she wondered how he could fight but nodded and quickly rushed to the door. Opening it she grabbed Gadari by the hand and dragged him inside. Turning she glared at the second guard.
“Karem no one must enter, not even Rahine.” She stated and closed the door quickly. She sighed and rushed back to the bed as Gadari slowly lifted Michael’s inert form into a sitting position.
Shantal clasped Gadari’s hand in hers. “I’ll hold him, you sit beside us and help Onnia pour the mixture into him.” She stated as she gently slipped under Michael cradling his head against her breasts.
Onnia reached out and pushed Michael’s eyelids open and stared deeply into his glazed eyes. “Gadari, I will need you to be ready to hold him down if he begins to react. Do not damage him, just simply keep him still.” She stared deeply into Gadari’s eyes and the dark skinned man nodded.
Onnia slowly poured a small amount of liquid into a cup and forced Michael’s mouth open, carefully pouring several drops of the potion into his mouth she massaged his throat helping him to swallow. Shantal tenderly brushed her fingers
through his hair while her left hand kept his head resting on her breasts. She closed her eyes and taking a deep breath began a prayer that she had not thought about in almost ten years.
It took over one hour to get the potion into Michael, after several cups of the drink Michael started to cough and sputter, he began to react to the taste and smell of the potion and Gadari had been forced to hold Michael down, it had not been an easy thing for even knowing that Michael was drugged he was still strong enough to fight.
“Hold him down or he will spill the contents.” She hissed and Gadari had to sit on him making Michael lose consciousness once again due to lack of oxygen.
Shantal gasped as Michael’s struggles ceased and he fell limp and unresponsive against her breast once again.
“You’re hurting him! Get off!” Shantal shouted and pushed Gadari off Michael’s chest. Onnia sighing and shaking her head continued to drip the potion into his mouth slowly. Gadari stood slowly once the mixture was finished.
Onnia lifted Michael’s eyelids once more and stared deeply into his Jade green eyes. She noticed that the iris of his eyes were not as dilated as before. Nodding she smiled at Shantal and returned to the bathroom, gathered her things and stood at the door watching as Shantal soothed Michael. Her fingers softly brushing his skin and hair.
Michael continued to toss his head from side to side, mumbling softly. His skin had become less pale. Onnia smiled.
“Remember that he will not be totally coherent, do you remember the effects he will suffer once he regains his senses?”
Shantal looked up, her eyes filled with tears that slowly fell down her cheeks. She wiped them away and nodded. “Yes.” she stated softly.
Onnia sighed. Placing a second jug of the mixture beside the bed she reached out and placed her fingers on Michael’s bare chest. Feeling the soft pattering of his heart she smiled and nodded, her gaze roamed around the elegant room. “He must drink the whole jug again in two hours Shantal. If he is coherent by then make sure he drinks it as quickly as possible, if he is still senseless have Gadari and Karem help you pour the potion into him.”
“And the special drug? When should I give him the first dose?”
Onnia smiled tenderly. “He must take the first dose within twelve hours after the second jug of the potion. also make sure that he takes a full dose at least ten minutes before Rahine must be entertained. He will never know what happened to him and that is for the best.” She gently brushed her wrinkled hand down his chest making Michael shiver softly. “A man like him will never sacrifice himself
willingly, and knowing Rahine he must be agreeable to her games or who knows what she will do.” Onnia smiled and tenderly placed her hand on Shantal’s cheek.
Shantal closed her eyes and nuzzled the old woman’s hand, opening her eyes she stared deeply into Onnia’s dark gaze. “Thank you for helping us, I won’t forget this.”
Onnia patted the girl’s cheek and nodded. “You don’t have to thank me girl, just keep him safe and alive, that will be payment enough for me.” She stood on shaky legs and quickly left the room. Crossing herself she said a silent prayer for Shantal and Michael.

Faroush rushed down the hallway, his color turning to a dark reddish purple as he tried to reach Shantal’s rooms before Rahine. He had never expected that Rahine would demand to be entertained tonight. He turned the corner and quickly ushered Gadari and Karem away.
“Get the clothes for the man, Rahine is on her way and he must be presentable within the hour.” He stated and slowly opened the door.
He gasped as his eyes slowly got used to the darkness inside the rooms. “Shanti?”
Shantal stirred sleepily beside Michael, she smiled as Michael’s breath softly brushed against her cheek. She slowly sat up and looked around. “What’s wrong Faroush?”
Faroush quickly walked to the bed and turned the lamp on. “Rahine wants him tonight.” He said as he turned and rushed to the bathroom.
Shantal quickly wiped the sleep from her eyes. “What do you mean she wants him tonight? It’s four o’clock in the morning Faroush!”
Faroush mumbled in the affirmative as he quickly exited the bathroom several minutes later with a damp towel. She began to slowly wipe the sweat from Michael’s body. The coolness of the cloth slowly brought Michael back into semi-consciousness.
Shantal stared at Faroush. “She should be asleep, like normal people. What does she want with him at this hour?” Shantal asked as she quickly dressed in her pale blue gown.
Faroush shrugged, continuing to wipe Michael’s body down with the cold, wet cloth. “All I know is that Rahine called me almost an hour ago and demanded to see him. She gave me five minutes before she arrived in these rooms to make him presentable.”
Shantal glared at Faroush. “Presentable? Faroush he is barely alive! The sedative and Kashnari almost killed him.” She leaned over Michael and whispered into Faroush’s ear. “I had to seek Onnia to make sure he did not die.” She confessed.
Faroush turned an angry glare toward Shantal. “You brought that old charlatan into these rooms? She saw Michael?”
Shantal nodded. “He was so limp and unresponsive, I feared he was dying Faroush.” She gasped as Michael’s hold on her hand tightened, he began to toss his head side to side, mumbling incoherently. Shantal and Faroush stared at each
other, knowing that Michael was in no shape to entertain Rahine.
Faroush sighed. “Well then I must make sure that the old crone does not open her lips and compromise us further.” He turned as the doors opened and Gadari entered the rooms, a dark green pair of pants and a black vest draped across his arms.
Gadari gazed at Shantal sadly, his gaze shifted slowly toward the man on the bed and finally settled upon Faroush. He nodded and set the clothing at the foot of the bed.
“Is that all Lalla?”
Shantal smiled. “Yes Gadari, you may go to bed, Karem can take guard duty tonight, just make sure to be back here at eight in the morning.”
Gadari nodded and bowed. Turning he quickly closed the doors and relayed Shantal’s orders to Karem, he then quickly retired to his chamber.
Faroush stood beside the bed, his keen eyes darted around the room making sure everything was in order. He sighed in exasperation.
“Shantal he must be awake when Rahine arrives.”
Shantal glared at him. “He needs to sleep, his body is not yet recovered from the sedatives, tranquilizers and drugs that have been administered to him. He might not be able to perform for Rahine for several days.” She looked down as Michael gently nuzzled her hand. Smiling she shifted her dark gaze back toward Faroush.
“What will she do with a man that-“
Shantal jumped as Faroush placed his fingers upon her lips. “This man must perform to Rahine’s satisfaction whenever she desires it. He is her property now and you know she has never been denied.”
Shantal sighed and nodded. “But Faroush......Look at him, he can’t even open his eyes.”
They both looked down and watched as Michael’s eyelids fluttered wildly, an attempt by Michael to see what was happening.
Michael had barely heard the discussion going on beside him, he fought hard to see who these people were and where he was. But his brain was still too sluggish to obey his commands, his mind battled furiously with his body to regain control, but finally with a loud sigh he allowed the darkness to slowly dissipate.
Faroush frowned and began to pace the spacious rooms. He mumbled softly to himself and stole several furtive glances toward the couple on the bed, he smiled as Michael’s eyelids continued to flutter.
Shantal gently caressed his cheeks as Michael fought the drugs, he slowly began to surface from the deep sleep he had been under for several hours.
“Yes Michael, open your eyes, wake up before Rahine enters the room. I must make sure you agree or she will punish you severely.” She whispered softly against his lips.
Michael frowned, not recognizing the soft feminine voice that softly caressed his tired body. He forced his eyes to open slightly, the bright light made him moan and he quickly snapped his eyes closed once again. He attempted to raise his hand, noticing that it would not move he frowned once again and tried to move away from the soft caress of the woman’s fingers.
“It’s ok Michael, take your time, allow the medication to slowly leave your body.”
Michael inhaled sharply, fascinated by the soft scent of roses that surrounded him. “Where am I?” His mind whispered. Frowning as he did not hear the words spoken aloud. He tried to speak, sighing as he noticed the foul
taste on his tongue and the soreness of his throat. “What did they do? Force nails down my throat?” He thought as the woman’s fingers brushed through his hair softly.
Michael concentrated hard on making the words leave his aching throat. “Wa-ter” he barely whispered.
Shantal smiled and turned to take the glass of water that sat on the table, she stopped and gasped as Rahine’s loud voice echoed outside the room.
Faroush stopped and stared at the door as a shiver of apprehension slithered down his spine. He quickly stepped closer to the bed as the doors were slammed open.
Rahine stood framed by the large mahogany doors. Her gaze roaming the silk covered room until her fiery gaze fell upon Michael. Closing the door she smiled and slowly sauntered toward the bed.
Shantal’s dark eyes widened as Rahine slowly made her way to the bed, her hand tightened involuntarily around Michael’s.
Michael kept quiet, his instincts on full alert as the woman tightened her hold on his cold hand. “Cold? My skin is cold why?” he thought. He kept completely still, listening intently to the muffled voices that surrounded him.
Rahine reached the foot of the bed, her eyes darted over Michael’s naked torso, a evil smile slowly spread over her face, never quite reaching her dark eyes. Her tongue slowly slipped out and wet her rouged lips. “He is absolutely incredible!” She whispered.
“Lalla Rahine, he is not yet recovered from the drugs.” Shantal stated.
Rahine glared at Shantal making the younger woman tremble. “He does not need to be conscious to pleasure me Shantal.” Rahine stated as her fingers gently caressed the toes of his left foot. “He will do fine in the state he is in, Faroush bring him to my room immediately. I have need of some late night entertainment.”
Faroush nodded. “Lalla I understand but the man will not be able to please you in any way. He is still senseless and will not regain consciousness for several hours still.”
Rahine turned her dark glare upon Faroush. “I do not care if he is coherent or not, I want him in my bed and there is where he will be. If he does not arrive in my room in five minutes you, Shantal and Michael will know the extent of my
displeasure.” Rahine stated angrily and turned, exiting the room and leaving them bewildered.
