What were they and where are they now?
I remember, as a much younger person, deciding where I’d be by the age of 40. I’d be married – happily, of course. I’d own a nice house with my spouse and drive a nice car and have a good job with enough flexibility to be able to take vacations whenever we wanted to. Of course we could afford to do so. Never did see children in the mix, but if I thought about it they were adopted. I had it all visualized, even down to the family dog, an irish setter.
Didn’t happen.
I had the nice house and car back when I was 38. The (now) ex decided that drugs were more important to him than anything else shortly after and it all got poofed away, along with lots of jewelry and most everything else I owned. He also managed to get me fired from my good job. *shrug* Oh well. That’s been a while ago. I’m pretty much over it although I’d really love to have my pendant back that had my mother’s engagement diamond set in it.
I’m 45 now. Don’t own a house – rent a mobile home. I drive a 6-year-old Saturn coupe that I’m still making payments on (and will be for several more years). Got a miniature daschund instead of the setter. And a cat, a ball python and a savannah monitor. The job is for bill-paying purposes only. Not good, not bad, just is. Haven’t had a vacation in years and wouldn’t know what to do with one if I did. The last one was spent in New Orleans with Princess C. Yes, we had much fun.
Oh yeah,,,,,marriage. No. I’m not doing that again. The last ex was number three for me. Since third time wasn’t ‘the charm’, I quit. Won’t be taking another shot at that one.
