Hi, Agatha! So glad you're still here! I've missed your postings.
I posted my review of Final Equinox here a couple years ago, but I can barely remember the movie now, except that David Warner had a pretty good role in it (and he looked really cute in his white sneakers!).
I had written a review of Loving Deadly long ago, but I never got around to posting it. Is anybody interested? (It's kinda long, even for me.) I took a look at that scene you're referring to again, which, can you believe, I had forgotten about. I think he was actually supposed to jump off her like that--keep in mind, he's the *evil* twin! (No mustache or belt buckle.) I love it when he whispers, "My only weakness is my obsession with you." But then there are other lines even he can't keep from sounding laughable ("vengeance is mine" ... *groan*). As a whole, the movie is unwatchable, but have you tried doing your own editing by just fast-forwarding to the DW scenes? It's like a completely different movie. I think he does some great acting in it, considering the material he has to work with. (Those two lead characters were awful. Did you get the impression like I did that the movie was just a bad rip-off of Natural Born Killers?)
Speaking of uncomfortable love scenes, have you seen Necronomicon? The opposite seems to be going on there. Talk about lousy chemistry--that actress seems totally not into him, even though the scene seemed to call for a little reciprocation. (Geez, if she didn't want to do it, they could've hired one of us, huh? She was kind of wooden in other scenes too though.)
It seemed to me at the time I saw it that the MST3K version of Quest of the Delta Knights cut out some of DW's best scenes as the villain, Vultare. Even though the script was pretty bad, he made some of the most trite lines sound hilarious. I wish we could see him do more comedy, don't you? Like Alan Rickman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, it seems as if he's the only person in the movie who realizes just how bad it is, so he's decided to take it over the top and play it for laughs. (Then again, maybe the filmmakers meant to rip off Rickman's Sheriff?)
Do you suppose maybe he chews gum in the Felony because he just looks so cool doing it? He was a great bad guy in that.
And speaking of *good* movies :-) ... Yup, I loved him in Cinderella! But I don't see it listed at TV Now for this month. And can you believe no Christmas Carol either this year? It's my favorite version.
