Well according to www.bbc.co.uk/proms it's all announced online on 25th April, and the printed guide booklet is published on 26th April, so it's not too long to go now and we will know everything :)

Personally I am hoping for LOTS and LOTS of William Walton for the Centenary year of his birth - he is one of my favourite composers, and I am yet to hear a piece of his that I do not like - and I note there was nothing of his music in 2001 (probably saving it for 2002). I hope we get a broad spectrum of not only his large scale works, but also the smaller unaccompanied choral motets (e.g. "Drop drop slow tears", "Set me as a seal", "All this time", "Make we joy now in this fest", etc) to show his wonderful dexterity. So what if people say his music went "off" as he got older - I like it all so far!!

*If* the rumour is true about Mahler 8, I hope to be there RAH organ or no RAH organ.

And give me any RVW any day.

And I look forward to a season full of "debate" on here as to the pro's and con's of each concert!!!! I hope this message board will be more used than it was last year.

I know last year's Last Night was hopefully unique, given the circumstances of September 11th 2001, but does anyone know why nobody chose to post a review to the Promenaders website of the final concerts? (Maybe it was simply a case of nobody writing one). I personally thought the Last Night was very moving, and still cannot watch the video of it without "filling up" after the Beethoven 9 finale.
