It's really for John to answer this, I'm only the Treasurer, but here goes. So far there has been nothing, not even recruiting or a string quartet. The trouble with the Prommers' Prom this year is that there is no date in the season suitable. It needs a weekend when there is no afternoon Prom on either day and no clash with the demands made on certain individuals by other groups, notably the London Philharmonic Choir. There is an event coming up in October for which a musical contribution from the Prommers would be eminently suitable, but it's too early to recruit for that. My own wish is that we put on some chamber music, if only to keep the continuity and to fill the gap in the official Proms programme. (How can we have an entire Proms season without a single note by Schubert?) But even a string quartet busking for the queue could attract the ire of the residents of Albert Court, and that would damage the good working relationship we have with the Royal Albert Hall. If anyone has an imaginative solution to this I think a lot of people would be grateful.
