Committee decides to give Megan enough rope in first round playin vs. Vanderbilt. They have essentially identical NET ratings, at 56/57.

Go Lions!

Great news for our League, one can only hope that opening door for a second IL team on women’s side may lead to fairer treatment for IL men.

Also, IL has de facto 3 entries on women’s side, Tigresses, Lionesses, and Lady Trojans!!!

Correction — women’s at-larges go through 12th seed, lucky for CU.

My bad on underrating the Princeton seed, even I miss one now and then, but congrats to Columbia, and an academically comparable matchup with Vandy to boot.

I'm watching the joint men's and women's Bracketology special on ESPN. Beyond talk of which region is the toughest and who has the easiest path to the Final Four, there have been three separate discussions of Coach Griffith's video.

Not surprisingly, two analysts have noted that she called out the SEC, as I described in the other thread, and now she gets to face Vanderbilt in the play-in game.

Charlie Creme, Ghost's nemesis, corrected picked 67 of the 68 teams in the women's field and talked a bit about why he would have picked Miami (FL) over Columbia. Then he mentioned my girlfriend's video.

What's the takeaway here?

The video worked.

It's incredible. I raved about Megan's video in the other thread and the damn thing actually moved the needle.

You've got to be a great saleswoman to convince a recruit like Abbey Hsu whom Princeton and Penn were chasing in 2018 or 2019 to pick then also-ran Columbia instead. You've also got to be a great saleswoman to convince an NCAA selection committee beholden to the major conferences to snub ACC Miami in favor of Ivy League Columbia.

Do you see why I love this woman?

Coach Griffith reminds me so much of another great Columbia athlete, my dear friend, Billy Campbell, the Captain of Columbia's 1961 Ivy League Football Championship Team. You had to love and respect Billy, and it is the same way for Megan. Congratulations to her and her coaching staff, and all of the players. This is a well deserved historic moment for the Columbia Women's Basketball Team, and also for the Ivy League.

You are aware that Penn and Princeton both played in the NCAA in 2016, right? Penn was a 10 seed, Princeton 11.

That was the year before the ILT began.
