Colella absent all day for the most part. Hipa numerous bad decisions. Def line not coming off blocks and pushed off ball by Columbia. Lions wanted this way more and that may be my biggest beef. No idea if this was due to Col defensive adjustments or some other reason Short passing game is how Georgetown beat Col and after first half I thought it was going to be same story against P. I think Princeton will continue to improve throughout season. Agree that Barber needs the ball more. Good luck to them this year, they have a great team. Very disappointed in the attendance of 4,111 for the home Ivy opener on a beautiful fall day. Princeton fans in particular did not show up, at all. At least the Princeton Band did come -- most Ivy bands skip CU these days. Although since Covid they have been half their normal size and a third as large as they were at Columbia games a dozen years ago. And the CU band, now run by the Atletics Dept, is now back and large enough to carry a tune although they were even smaller than Princeton. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]

The poor attendance comes from a variety of factors including the failure of the Columbia Administration to provide any indoor or outdoor parking facilities on or near Baker Field. Columbia should have built a multi-use indoor facility with garage space across from the soccer stadium. The lack of parking keeps everyone away. As for the band, the Athlete Administration needs to get one or more well-known local musicians to sponsor the band and provide band members with opportunities and benefits available only in the Big Apple. Food we do have is overpriced and options limited - dogs, pizza, pretzels and popcorn. I bring my own lunch and it is always delicious. As for parking I don't see what folks expect in Manhattan - no one can find a place to park. However, if you drive around Inwood you are bound to find a place near the stadium anyway. Placement of the hospital is a done deal -- so long ago - give it up; lack of parking also due to womans teams fields right but don't blame the ladies for that? I'm more impressed that we seem to have a youthful and driven new coach who so far is overexceeding expectations; a great QB from Texas who looks like a matinee idol and he has a hot mom (sorry PC folk) - we beat the Tigers for gawd's sake - that is like finding several parking places right in front of the game x ten. Louise was a 3-sport athlete, winner of the von Kienbusch Award as the school's top senior woman athlete, and varsity tennis coach for 25 (?) years.
