Should also mention that the current seniors were not expected to be a strong recruiting class. They were the COVID guys, and based on number of FBS offers, they did not compare favorably to other Dartmouth recruiting classes in the past 10-15 years. Indeed, during a Friends of Football Call during spring or summer of 2021, someone asked Teevens if the shutdown negatively impacted recruiting because we hadn't gotten as many guys with FBS offers as we did in the past. Teevens got visibly angry and went on a rant for a good 45-60 seconds saying that he has stated repeatedly that he doesn't care about recruiting service rankings and how that he was excited and pleased with the guys that are coming to Hanover and he was fully confident that they would perform well. When he finally stopped, he took a breath and added "That said, I will acknowledge that there is no substitute to bringing a kid to Hanover and showing him the campus" for recruiting purposes.
