Don't know the answer, but generally speaking I am constantly surprised by how often these kids graduate in 3 years (or even less) considering the time commitment for their sports.

Gentlemen; I agree he was one of the best split ends for our blue. Hopefully, he is headed for the West Coast Indians versus the minutemen. Sat in the next row above his parents and uncles at the Cantab Contest at the horseshoe by the river Charles where he did not disappoint with an outstanding performance.

How many of these players are leaving without getting degrees?

They appear to be out of ivy eligibility.

If they’re out of Ivy eligibility, I would assume that they will all earn an Ivy degree, exclusive of some academic disaster in the spring semester.

While it is impressive to see our best athletes move on to playing for Power 5 conferences, there also is a trend of some of our Ivy athletes to elect to play sports at elite academic universities that are not D1 conferences.

Let's look at two recent Princeton athletes who earned limited playing time for the Tigers and became graduate transfers for elite universities in a D3 conference. Princeton DB Zach Bouggess transferred to Johns Hopkins, where he more than doubled his playing time. Likewise, Princeton basketball player Konrad Kiszka transferred to New York University, where he tripled his playing time and scoring average.

I even know of Ivy football players who are electing to play (American) football overseas at University of Oxford (Oxford Lancers) and at University of Cambridge (Cambridge Pythons) in the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) league. Glad that there are wider range of options for our Ivy athletes to continue playing their sports, while getting a first class education.

Good for them to get their degrees and continue playing the game they love.

Yale has lost a lot of guys to the portal! Two guys to UMASS, Nose guard to No. Illinois, etc. Pretty impressive!

YMMV, but if guy elects to play football while pursuing graduate work at another school after he's exhausted his Ivy eligibility, I do not consider that guy to be "lost to the portal."
