Thanks for your counterargument, Richard. If there were no rebuttal, my "call" would not be much of an assertion.
I should have chosen my words more carefully. Specifically, what I was trying to say is that Lee would not join Wolf, Mack and Okpara in the transfer portal because his Asian parents would never let him forgo earning a Princeton degree. That's how Asian parents roll.
Now your prediction is that Lee will play in the NBA next year. I suppose that there is an overlapping intersection in the Venn diagram of our two beliefs. Namely, Lee could declare for the draft and then come back at some point later in life to re-enroll at Tigertown to finish up his requirements for a Princeton diploma.
I guess the real question for him is as follows: What happens to the universe of guys drafted in the low 40's as you speculate? How many of them make an NBA roster? How many of them play in the G League and then get promoted? How many of them play in the G League, but never get a whiff of the big time? How much can you make if you never put on an NBA uniform?
Another consideration is that Lee looks very skinny. He has yet to grow into his "man's body." Some guys do that at age thirteen. I had a guy in my junior high school who was a dominant 5'8" center/forward in eighth grade. He was a man among boys. When we all graduated from high school, he was still 5'8". By then, he was a man among other men. The college recruiters did not know his home phone number.
Other guys are still growing, if not up, at least out, when they're 22 or 23.
Lee will need to decide if he's better off trying to fill out his physique before going up against NBA prospects who look like body builders next to his slight frame.
Anyway, a more narrow phrasing of my assertion is that Lee will not transfer to Michigan or Georgetown or anywhere else because an Asian parent is never going to let their child pick up a degree from those fine institutions instead of one which says "Princeton" on it. 'Cause that parent knows, for the rest of their lives, they're going to have to tell all their new friends or associates, "My son was admitted to Princeton and was in good academic standing 3/4 of the way to a degree until. . . ." No Asian parent wants to do that.
