In reply to: Boston Lion 's message, "Columbia Gets 20th Win in 26-Point WBK Victory over Brown" on 18:21:32 02/28/25 Fri

Lions started with 0-11 shooting but they are so well coached that they never abandoned a game plan which featured
crashing the boards and full court pressure. Eventually a talented Brown squad succumbed. Opens the door for Penn to grab the #4 spot in The Tournament.

We're coming down the home stretch and one of the interesting questions is whether either Brown team can make their way into the field.

I don't think it's fair for the #1 seeds, as I and many others have said over the years, but since Ivy Madness was originally supposed to be a League-wide party and schmooz-fest, the ambience would better if at least one Bruno squad was there to stoke student and Brown alumni interest.

I know for sure it wouldn't be a problem for the Columbia women and, as much as I hate making the #1 seed Yale play on its opponent's home court, it would be good for the corporate types from the 609 headquarters. Does anybody know if we actually entertain real paying sponsors?

If there are no real paying sponsors, let's scrap the rotating system after Cornell and Dartmouth. It's not a schmooz-fest is there's nobody present to schmooz.

Brown is effectively out of both.

On the men's side, they need a win over Yale and one of these three scenarios:
1) Cornell Lose Out + Dartmouth Win or
2) Cornell Lose Out + Harvard Win + Princeton Win over Penn or
3) Princeton Lose Out + Dartmouth Win

On the women's side, they need a win over Yale and a Penn loss to Princeton to force a tie, however, they would need a 21-point swing in the NET ranking (Penn 162, Brown 183) which is nearly impossible considering their opponent's ranks (Princeton 49, Yale 329).
