 Given Duke’s record this year, hard to argue with the decision. Plus doubt Amaker would have been willing to resign from Harvard to be an assistant coach for Duke in 22 as part of the transition.

There was going to be no competition- needed clear succession and transition for recruiting purposes. K definitely thought Scheyer was right guy and I think age had a lot to do with it given the dramatic change in college sports landscape. Also Scheyer was already on road recruiting for Duke and successfully - unclear how Tommy would do given age and transition from Ivy to ACC
