An Observer: According to what occurs during the next three weeks , Columbia and Coach Griffith may have to make a pivotal decision. For Columbia, in order to keep one of the better coaches, they might have to pay a premium. As for Megan Griffith, I suspect other schools will “out bid” Columbia. Columbia’s ace in the hole could be offering her an a first if it’s kind opportunity opportunity- coaching the men’s team. If this plays out this way, then she’ll have a her own pivotal decision: Take the money and run or remain in Morning Side Highlights and make coaching history. If the latter happens, then the world will be watching and she’ll be a coaching inspiration.

I don't know if anyone here has the particulars of Coach Griffith's contract. I'm sure if she wanted and the offer from elsewhere large enough, she could try and break the remaining years (if any) on her contract with CU.

But it may be premature to think she is automatically going to be weighing options, or that it is incumbent on CU to make her this hypothetical offer AO has posited. Nothing wrong with either speculating or conceiving of that kind of role; it just may not be an automatic at this point.

What's to say she is actually satisfied with the current state of affairs? She seems to be recruiting stronger and stronger classes, she is obviously getting the support from the school, why would she not want to stay in her current role and see if she can't perfect the trajectory?

Despite the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune which certain external actors seem determined to suffer upon the university, the sense is that the athletic department has things well in hand. As has been pointed out here and on the other boards, a couple of key recruits, and some dynamic coaching, ala Griffith and Poppe, could have the men's BBT back in the swing in reasonably short order.

How about them apples?
