Columbia just defeated Dartmouth by a 9-8 score at Satow Stadium in Manhattan to move into a tie with Penn for first place in the Ivy League standings. The Lions swept their three-game series with Dartmouth which featured the long ball prowess of Columbia stars Sam Miller, Jack Kale and Anton Lazits. Columbia and Penn play one another in Philly next weekend in a highly anticipated three-game series that is likely to decide first place in the Ivy League pennant race.

Although Columbia swept the series it did so only on the basis of its offense. Pitching in all 3 games was generally unimpressive, and the defense was awful. Today featured 6 Columbia errors. We will have to play a lot better next weekend.

Totally agree with you. The six errors in yesterday's game was shocking. As for the pitching, it is obviously not there yet, but Jagger Edwards was very impressive in his five inning outing allowing just three hits and no runs. I also like our two freshman hurlers from Florida.

Columbia's home run production was formidable. The Lions hit 8 HRs in the series, including 4 in game 2 alone. Miller hit 2 HRs in one game.

Can anybody help with driving directions and parking information for the Penn series at Penn?

I used to work in the Penn administration, so I can try to help. But you didn't say where you're coming from.

If from the north, I'd suggest crossing on the Whitman instead of the Ben Franklin. Then Schuylkill Expressway (76) west to South St exit for Penn. Turn left at top of exit ramp in direction of West Phil and Penn campus. Street parking in West Phil used to be manageable. Just stay on top of it time-wise. Or hit one of the garages.
