The order directs the NCAA to create rules that mandate college athletes can play for 'no more than a five-year period' and allows them to transfer schools only once before they graduate without having to sit out a season." https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/48387866/executive-order-limits-ncaa-athletes-five-years-one-transfer Nice idea, but I don't see where any legal authority exists for it and doubt it will hold up in court. It’s called a buy out. They have to buy their way out of the contract which they are breaking in order to take the next job. Now, whether the coach has to put up the buy out or the new school is willing to do it, there is nonetheless a penalty that must be paid. Might be an apples to oranges comparison but fruit is fruit.
