UNC men in 1993, women in 1994.

Could have sworn it was the same year...

Ah, well! :)

I have bad news for you. No part of our bodies is what it used to be.

No part is what we think it used to be.

Re my question about disparities between Ivy men’s and women’s lax performance in NCAA competition, I agree with AO’s analysis that lax players from upscale families are rational in turning down scholarship and NIL money from ACC schools when: a) there is little financial pressure on graduates of Brunswick School et al., AND Cornell, Princeton and Yale offer the add on of financial service job network superior to ACCs. This assumes women are less inclined to pursue Wall Street careers, an assumption that has less validity with each passing year (and Wall Street feeling pressure from regulators such as Sen Warren). One factor not entered into AO’s calculus is the time honored prejudice that says, “when families have to invest hard dollars in their children’s education, they will prioritize sons’ educations over that of daughters.” Again, this is a sentiment that declines with each year, but still has some traction.
