Glenn: I have no doubt that you are correct in assuming that Perry will be around next year. But that doesn't mean he should be. When Al Bagnoli took over Columbia, Columbia had not won since Christopher Columbus arrived in the new world. But by year 3, Columbia achieved an 8-2 record and in the next four years they had 3 winning seasons. When Perry took over, Brown was down. But it was nothing like the wreck that Bagnoli inherited at Columbia. Yet in 3 years, Bagnoli had resurrected that moribund program. A good coach, and Bagnoli was among the best, doesn't need 10 years to achieve a winning record. It is now year 6 for Perry and he is still floundering. Perry was one of the greatest QBs in the ivy league, he was a great offensive coordinator for Princeton, yet he is flop as a head coach. Those who think he is going to turn Brown around are merely whistling past the graveyard. After all it is Halloween.
