In 2016 Cornell started the season 3-0 and hopes were high, but David Archers teams always fell apart. Coaches and players quickly got tired of him and the Big Red finished that season at 4-6. Archer never had a winning season in his 10 years at Cornell and hasn’t found a coaching job since he got fired at the end of the 2023 season.

In spite of his inability to get winning teams Archer was a class act who bled Cornell Red. He is still living in Ithaca and has his own business up and runnin.g
