>I agree with gi that Melanie made the right decision in benching most of the starters in the Dayton game. Amy comes ready to play 40 minutes every game and she never quits trying to get this team going. Being young I realize it may take awhile for this team to gel but not knowing the offense by now is inexcusable. Amy can't play her game and be telling the other 4 players where to be everytime they are on offense. Reetta is a great player but we need her every game. I agree using the bench and giving them experience is a good idea and what can it hurt? We keep hoping every game will get better but so far its just not happening come on ladies the talent is there let use it!

  • I agree with you completely, especially with what you said about taking the starters out when they're not performing. I mean, in the Middle Tennessee St. game, frankly, XU sucked the whole second half, and they didn't even score for a while at the start of that half. If I were coach, I would have pulled everyone except Waugh and put in Kim, Nikki, Dani, and Yukes. I think Mel needs to make a statement to ALL the players that, hey, if you're not going to play hard, you're not playing at all. But that's just my view. Let's just hope XU plays with some heart today against the Dukes. (NT) -- xuwbb4ever5_35, 16:36:14 01/04/02 Fri
  • Given the makeup of the other team, I would bring in Aida ahead of Colleen. What's the deal with Niedermeyer, can she play? It is almost getting to the point where you have to start thinking of next year and I agree in playing the players that want to play and will not play soft. Besides Amy though, I do think Alexis is playing well most of the time. It seems with Reeta, Katie, and Shavon, you just don't know what to expect game to game and they should be helping Amy lead this time. Is there any dissension in the ranks?
