Subject: bought an albin vega cart b4 the horse

just bought a 77 albin vega from deltavile va. its got new standing and running rigging. took one three hour lesson with with some motor sailor who explainedme that what we were doing was motorsailing. I ask him to get the big sail where we could start to move over 1.5 knots. he said he thought the i wasnt ready. fuck! I just wanted to feel the wind in my face. shit ! would any engine less sailors consider taking a month or 2 trip with me to teach me how to sail this thing. my brother died last month , the last time i spoke to him neither he or I knew what was around the corner. he said jim buy the fucking boat, if you dont follow your dreams to the distant horizons you will end up an old man with lots of regretts. surveyor said hull and deck were dry sail were ok( open to building new sails if needed). i know lots off folk take years to learn how to sail on weekends, I was thinking hey maybe it would be good if i could sail eveyday for the next six months to a year. thanks jim
