I think bc is the place to be. I am on lasqueti and although I do not live on my boat I keep it at anchor in scotty bay which is very protected and has 4 or 5 liveaboards.

if you want to be closer to civilization naniamo still has livaboards at anchor behind newcastle Island but it is riddled with seaplanes and powerboat wake. most of the protected bays in the gulf Islands have many boats on mooring bouys.
