Sorry it has taking so long to update everyone on this, but I was busy with the holidays. I attended these meetings, at which time Nick Wiley said the FWC would pay for a survey to be sent out to hunters. It seemed that a lot of hunter wanted to know why they were not asked about the changes. The Stakeholder group voted down sending surveys. I was shocked!! After that they decided to sweeten the pot as they call it, by making it appear impossible for the Florida Hunter to object. Please remember the Quota Hunt Group can NOT decided if quotas will be decrease because of the buddy hunter. The Deer Management team is the ONLY ones to decide this. You don't know how many times I heard how can they object when they have a chance now to obtain eight quotas. This will not happen for most of us. Also all of this may and will change at the Feb. 27-28 and April 2-3 meeting. I will keep you posted of the changes. By the way they are presenting Draft Recommendations to the Commissioner at the Feb 6th meeting. The Commissioner will have a chance to make their comments then, THEY WILL NOT BE VOTING ATY THIS MEETING!!!
